Are there items that cannot be stored in the units?
Yes. Gasoline, propane tanks, kerosene, motor oil, paint, chemicals, acids, fireworks, explosives, weapons or ammunition, or any item that could be hazardous cannot be stored. We do allow a vehicle to be stored, but it must be licensed, registered and insured. We do not allow more than 4 tires to be stored in a unit. Ask our on-site managers if you have any questions about what you can store.
Can I use a unit for my business storage?
Yes, businesses commonly store items at Fort Knox Self Storage. We offer gate access 7 days a week from 7am to 9pm for easy access. Among the businesses we commonly serve are those who are remodeling for short-term rentals, or for ongoing use, businesses who need extra file storage; churches; medical supply companies; service businesses who need tool or equipment storage; and government agencies. We also offer fax and copy service on-site for your convenience.
Are my belongings insured while they are stored?
If you have renter’s insurance or homeowner’s insurance, your items are likely covered while you have them stored, but to be sure, ask your insurance agent. If you do not have insurance, we have information about third-party policies that you can purchase to cover the contents while in storage.
What security measures do you have in place?
Fort Knox Self Storage offers video surveillance and electronically-controlled gate access. You may make arrangements with our on-site managers if you need 24-hour access. Our managers make repeated checks of your locks daily. Our facility is very well-lit and easy to find at Edith and Osuna in Albuquerque.
